The Little Prince - vocabulary from chapter nr 8 (part II)

I am not a person who can be accused of vanity. I would say I am a rather modest guy. I do not like drawing attention to myself by grooming too much. It doesn't mean that I adore wearing a crumpled shirt and having a dishevelled hairstyle. When I feel I must look elegant, I do everything I need to with diligence, so that I don't feel embarrassed when I meet my family and friends. I don't like it to last too long though, because I hate to torment myself by adjusting my appearance endlessly. I don't think that it will ever change. That is definitely one thing which will always be the same.

Vocabulary:

Vanity, modest, groom, crumpled, dishevelled, with diligence, embarrassed, last, torment, adjust.
